Tie Commissions
These two lots of ties were specifically commissioned by customers for weddings.
The flowery ones were a fabric the customer chose, after looking in the various online stores I suggested (I ordered it and included it in her invoice), and the paisley fabric was designed by the bride's daughter. I'd done some sewing for her previously, so she knew the standards I work to, and asked me to turn the fabric into ties. They were just so difficult to photograph!
Dresses
I have made several dresses for various customers. Every client is different, and I do not make generic, 'fits all size 8s' clothing. That's available over the counter in retail stores. I make garments that are made to the clients measurements, and sometimes it takes a couple of toiles to get it right. It's not cheap, but when the customer gets what they want, they're happy.
This dress doesn't look very good on the hanger, because the customer has a narrow back, and the dress looks as though it's all front. But look at the difference on the body. Thats what makes the difference when clothes are made to fit you specifically. Here are a few more items I've made in the last couple of years:
The patterned one was the toile for the navy, which the customer was extremely happy with. The black and white was the White Queen for World Book Day, with the checks giving the hint of a chess board.

And a toile I made out of lightweight cotton canvas, because a customer wanted cotton ties making, and I'd only ever made satin ones. I will add the ties to this page when the wedding is over.
